What Does Custom Mean?
We do not specialize in themed cakes nor do we use any dyes! All of our cakes are decorated with a standard semi-naked ice with a top and bottom border unless otherwise requested. The cakes can be garnished with optional fresh florals, fresh fruit, and/or nuts if you purchase florals and/or a filling and request garnish prior to pickup. For example, if you purchase mixed berries filling we can put some mixed berries on top if you request that decoration in advance.
If you don’t see what you’re looking for, let us know! We are happy to discuss off-menu accommodations for an additional $25 charge. Please email your requests to hello@threebitesbakery.com.
Cake Storage and Enjoyment Tips
We recommend storing your cake in the fridge until 3-4 hours before it will be eaten if you don’t intend to eat it the same day you receive it. Please allow your cake to come to room temperature for the best texture and flavor before you enjoy it.
Dietary Restrictions
While we absolutely respect that some people may have dietary restrictions or preferences, we are currently unable to fulfill any dairy free or vegan orders for our custom cakes. We do offer a sans rival cake, pavlova, and Italian lemon and almond cake as gluten free options, and they can be found on our bakery menu. Please check out some other local favorites for your dietary needs!
Reference Photos
If you would like to send over reference photos for your cake decoration ideas we welcome that! However, please do not use chatGPT or similar AI tools to generate mockups as they don't tend to be realistic. We reserve the right to request a different reference photo in the case that AI has been used.
Standard Cakes
Custom cake orders require a seven day lead time. *Please see below for rush order fees for anything less than one week. Rush orders will only be accepted if we have the availability.*
Tiered, Wedding, Vintage Cakes & Catering
Tasting boxes for wedding cake require a seven day lead time. We are unable to accommodate changing buttercreams for the boxes.
Custom wedding and vintage cakes as well as catering orders require a fourteen day lead time, and a 50% non-refundable deposit upon booking. Delivery is available for weddings and events*. However, there may be circumstances in which we cannot accommodate delivery/set up even within our delivery range.
Cake Delivery: Available for weddings within the 270 loop in Columbus, OH. This includes set up at location.
Catering Delivery: Available for weddings and events. Weddings: $45 within the 270 loop in Columbus, OH. Events within 270: 10-15% of total based on zip code. Minimum of $25-30. Events outside 270: $1 every mile from 270.
When you submit your order request, you'll receive an email quote with a price estimate. Upon acceptance of your quote, you’ll receive an email invoice and wedding/catering contract confirming the details of your order, the estimated price, and the pickup or delivery information for your order. The remaining 50% balance on the invoice is to be paid no later than two weeks before the event or your order will be canceled. *Please see below for rush order fees for anything less than two weeks. Rush orders will only be accepted if we have the availability.*
Invoicing
All custom cakes (standard, wedding, vintage) and catering requests will be invoiced upon acceptance. Invoices are to be paid no later than a) two days before pickup (for standard cakes ONLY) or b) two weeks before your desired pickup/delivery date or your order will be canceled. Rush orders* (see below) are to be paid immediately. Please allow up to a week to receive your invoice or response; if you are looking to order a cake with no customizations consider ordering through our bakery menu.
Rush Fees
Standard Cakes: Order requests placed less than seven days out from the desired pickup date will be subject to the following rush fees (per cake): Six days out: $5 Three days out: $7 Next day: $10
Tiered, Wedding, & Vintage Cakes: Estimates accepted less than fourteen days out from the desired pickup/delivery date will be subject to the following rush fees (per cake): Single Tier & Sheet Cake: $15 Tiered: $25 Same week (Single Tier & Sheet Cake only): $25
Catering: Estimates accepted less than seven days out from the desired pickup/delivery date will be subject to the following rush fees: Six days out: $7 Three days out: $10
Rush orders accepted for Standard cakes require the invoice to be paid immediately. Wedding, Vintage, and Catering orders still require a 50% non-refundable deposit, with the remaining 50% invoice balance due no later than the following day the invoice is sent. Failure to pay your invoice in full will result in your order being canceled.
Cancelations
Please give 48hr advance notice if you need to change or cancel your order. Our small business schedule means every order is treated with personal care, but it also means we are unable to give refunds or remakes if you miss your pickup date or time. If you need your item at a later date and you do not give 48hr notice, you will have to place a new order. Thanks for understanding!
